Puritan Belief

The Puritans are the men of God who started in the 16th century building on the purity of the gospel message that Salvation is by Grace alone.

Who has the Father?

Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; the one who confesses the Son has the Father also. 1 Jn 2:23

This key verse has its center in Jesus Christ. All through scripture it is talking about confessing Jesus, coming to Jesus and believing in Jesus. For those who do this have the Father. Scripture never talks about confessing someone else to have the Father for to confess Jesus is to confess the Father and have the Father.

What Little Children Know:
I write unto you little children, because ye have known the Father 1 Jn 2:13

Newly born again children confess Jesus and therefore know the Father. This is because when they confess Jesus they are crying out "Abba Father". They are crying out on the name of Jesus Christ:

.. God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father"... And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved."(Gal 4:6 & Acts 4:12)

It is clear to me that the little children know the Father and the wise guys don't!
They think the Father is somebody else then Jesus.

Scripturally speaking, we believe that the Father is the Father of Jesus, who is consistently named as the Son of God (with Mark even beginning his Gospel account with the verse, "The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God")- though it is also clear that Jesus is God Himself (with John beginning his Gospel account, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God") and that there is only one God(Deut. 6:4)- and we believe this on the basis of Jesus constantly referring to the Father as "My Father" (Matt. 7:21; 10:32-33; 11:27; 12:50; 16:17; 18:10,14,19; 20:23; 26:29,39,42,53; Luke 2:49; 10:22; 22:29; 24:49; John 2:16; 5:17,43; 6:32,40; 8:19,38,49,54; 10:18,25,29,37; John 14:2,7,20.)
So, can "little children" tell the difference between the phrase "My Father" and the word "Me"? Cause, if you're trying to assert that there is no distinction between the personalities of the Son of God and of the Father, then why does Jesus always speak as if there is a clear distinction- though never any division- so that "the one who confesses the Son has the Father also"?

Ajlin:
Jesus is speaking in figurative language about His Father.(John 16:25) He calls the Spirit who Fathered Him or the Holy Spirit his Father. For by definition the Holy Spirit is the Father of Jesus. (Luke 1:35)

Every little Child who has Jesus revealed in them cries out on Jesus as their Abba Father as the verses point out in this post.

Hope this helps
